Hands-On Training (HOT) Program Emphasizes Learning by Doing
RNC-CO will be instructing Module 5 Bucket Elevator Course
The course will touch on Hands On Training techniques and learn basic principles in material handling solutions using Bucket Elevators in the grain industry.
Interaction with the attendees and learning from each others experiences make this a great opportunity to be more comfortable in a real world application.
All grain companies need trained and skilled operators and maintenance people. GEAPS and Kansas State University (K-State) have designed Hands-On Training (HOT) Program to train grain workers on real, operating grain conveying equipment.
Over the course of two and a half days, you will work directly on the following equipment:
- Bucket elevator
- Distributors
- Screw conveyors
- Bin sweep
- Chain conveyors
- Belt conveyors

Come Prepared With Pre-Training Modules
Safety and lubrication are key components of the HOT program. Before you start the training, you will complete three hour-long online modules on safety, lubrication and the development and implementation of comprehensive preventative maintenance programs.
2019 Hands-On Training Information
This interactive training will take place December 3-5, 2019 at Kansas State University in the Hal Ross Flour Mill. Attendance is capped at 30 participates to ensure personal attention and sufficient time operating equipment. The course cost is $1,375 for GEAPS members and $1,725 for non-members.
